All dimensions provided are for pricing purposes only and remain your responsibility unless a site survey is completed.
2. Schedule & Lead Times
We understand that clients may face demanding build schedules. Some lead times may fall outside your required programme. In such cases, please discuss your schedule with us. Lead times exclude customary holidays and may be extended depending on order complexity and design requirements. Lead times fluctuate throughout the year; contact us to confirm the current lead time.
3. Special Orders
All products are custom-made. We can only process your order once all manufacturing data and structural opening dimensions are confirmed and signed drawings are received. Special Order Approval: Please review the enclosed interpretation of your requirements and confirm your approval. Special order items are non-returnable.
4. Survey & Installation
Installation works will be carried out in a single uninterrupted visit during normal working hours. Standard installation includes: 20mm flat and 13mm corner plastic trims, silicone sealant, PU foam, and concrete fixings. Additional fixing plates, sealants, trim sections, or pressings may incur extra cost. Additional site visits due to incomplete site preparation may be chargeable. Installation prices assume direct fixing to the outer brick course. Alternative methods (e.g., strap fixings) may incur additional charges. Prices quoted include removal and disposal of existing windows and doors unless otherwise stated. Not Included: Lead flashings, cranes, scaffolding, and lifting equipment; internal window boards (unless specified); packings, trims, or pressings for steel lintels to prevent cold bridging; structural works, planning permission, building control approval; plastering, dry lining, rendering, or replacement of internal sills, ledges, or boards. A site survey is recommended to confirm any additional requirements.
5. Product Finishes & Glass
Product Finishes: Colour samples are indicative only; minor variations may occur. Anodised frames may have minor scratches; metallic or pearlescent powder-coated finishes may vary between components.
Glass: Any guarantee does not cover minor imperfections in glass that fall outside the visual quality standards set out in the Glass & Glazing Federation (GGF) guidelines. We make every effort to supply glass units of the highest available quality; however, some minor scratches and imperfections may still occur.
The Glass & Glazing Federation (GGF) visual quality standards for glass and insulating glass units (IGUs) provide clear guidelines on acceptable visual characteristics and inspection methods. Here’s a summary of the main points:
Key Aspects of GGF Visual Quality Standards
- Inspection Method: Viewing Distance – Glass should be viewed from inside the room, at right angles to the glass, standing at least 2 metres away for standard glass, and at least 3 metres away for toughened, laminated, or coated glass. The main criteria is the view through the IGU from inside the building, with some consideration for outside appearance in reflection.
- Lighting: Inspection should be performed in natural daylight, but not in direct sunlight, and with no visible moisture on the glass surface.
- Exclusion Zone: A 50mm band around the perimeter of the glass is excluded from visual assessment.
- Acceptable Imperfections / Blemishes: Glass is deemed acceptable if minor imperfections (such as seeds, bubbles, blisters, hairlines, blobs, fine scratches up to 25mm long, or minute embedded particles) are not obtrusive or bunched together.
- Obtrusiveness: Imperfections are judged by looking through the glass, not at it, under the specified lighting conditions.
- Special Considerations / Processed Glass: Toughened glass may show visual distortions, and laminated glass may have more blemishes due to its layered construction. Low-emissivity coatings can produce transient visual effects such as haze or a cloudy appearance under certain lighting.
- Patterned or Textured Glass: Standards do not generally apply to patterned or textured glass due to its different manufacturing process.
